I was so surprised that I had never been to Germany before last year. It's a country that offers a lot of different experiences! The food and the beer is what everyone expects to be your favorite part, but I really enjoyed the architecture as well. You can see the different eras collide in the combination of modern and traditional aspects. Even though I don't speak German, everyone was still welcoming. I hope I can go back to Germany in the near future!
Berlin
Berlin is a very photogenic city. Aside from the well-known Brandenburg gate, the Alexanderplatz and even the parks had something to offer. There was so much history as well, evident from the remnants of the Berlin wall but also the numerous museums and memorials. I would definitely recommend seeing as much of the historical record as you can if you're in the area. Plus, the food was much better than expected and we stayed in a great area of the city. I didn't expect it to be my favorite place, but I really liked my experience.
